future water

Branding, Package Design & Advertisement

future water is a collection of branding and advertisement to alert audiences about the ongoing dangers of mismanaged nuclear waste disposal.

On March 11, 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant was hit by tsunami and an earthquake resulting in three nuclear meltdowns and the release of radioactive contamination. To this day, the contaminated water is leaked from the three units and stored in water tanks on ground. Due to a lack of storage space, the Japanese government plans to release over one million tonnes of contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean (Greenpeace International, 2019).

The inflow of polluted water in the ocean can have a profound effect on marine ecosystems and possibly lead to human consumption, which can cause vomiting, hair loss, central nervous system damage, and cancer.

future water presents a reality that may be upon us if we do not act. The audiences from age 17 to 64 are encouraged to actively voice their opinions on the matter to make a difference for a better future.
